I’ll be facilitating a Roundtable Discussion with Wendy Holliday (Weber State University) at the 2025 Association of College & Research Libraries Conference. Titled “Growing Where We’re Planted: Uprooting Stories About Career Advancement in Academic Libraries,” we’ll explore and interrupt career ladder narratives and reimagine how to create more humane search and promotion processes (especially for internal candidates). I’d like to acknowledge Merinda McLure for her collaborative work when we explored these topics at the Conference on Academic Library Management earlier this year.
